Tangerine Tango

Pantone's hue of the year for 2012 is "Tangerine Tango."  We had a bride in 2011 in love with this color, wanting to use only it,  and lucky enough, we were able to give her what she wanted.
The bride carried a simple bouquet of Star 2000 roses with a touch of green hypericum berries for interest.  While her bridesmaids carried the same roses but with a collar of white hydrangea to set the roses off against their Tangerine dresses.

The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful, quaint, Redondo Beach Historic Library.
We kept the centerpieces classically simple with a glass trio of hydrangea and roses and incorporated her light blue accent color in a satin ribbon.  The cake was fun with it's bright fondant flowers and bobble head topper of the bride and groom so we had fun with lots of Tangerine petals and rose touches.

Going Green

Having  just celebrated St. Patrick's Day,  I am pulling from the archive a wedding we designed using mostly green flowers.  The inspiration and bride's request was to use green button poms.  The whole feeling fit the bride and groom perfectly.  The intimate ceremony took place at the Korean Friendship Bell www.koreanbeacon.com in San Pedro.

The bride carried a white and ivory bouquet of creamy Vendela roses, white Stephanotis, hydrangea and accented with the novelty of Kermit mums to incorporate the green while her girls carried bouquets of mostly the Kermit mums with a collar of green hydrangea and accents of cymbidium orchids.

The centerpieces were a textural combination of hydrangea, succulents, orchids, berries, and herbs and fit the space perfectly as the reception was held at Cafe Piccolo www.cafepiccolo.com in Long Beach.

Rustic Romance

We had the pleasure of creating the floral for the wedding of Mike and Dara that took place at Tuscali Mountain Inn.

The bride wanted her flowers to be rustic, romantic and textural.  We used succulents and other fun flowers and combinations to achieve her look.

The reception was in a beautiful tuscan inspired courtyard and had varying tables of beatiful linens by Town and Country in a natural burlap that set off the colors and style of the flowers perfectly.

Color of Love

With Valentine's Day approaching, I'm pulling a wedding from May 2011 at the University Club in Irvine where we designed with all red flowers.  Our bride wanted  spring flowers of tulips, sweet peas, and ranunculas and we brought in some romance with velvety red roses.
The bride carried a gardeny bouquet which was customized with the attaching of her grandmother's broach. The groom and groomsmen wore tulips and ranunculas with a more rustic raffia wrap.
The flower girls carried pomander balls of spray roses and sweet peas.
The gazebo was draped in white organza fabric and the top was designed with romantic loose vines of Ivy and Smilax, Curly Willow branches throughout, and floral in springy reds.
As we moved into reception we adorned the bride and groom chairs with a nosegay of floral, enhanced the head table with beautiful Smilax vine garland and loose floral and enhanced the cake with simple red touches as well.
Beautiful images are by Karen Leah photography who's team was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Fall Photo Shoot

We were asked to be a part of a fall photo shoot organized by Christina Domino at Considerate Done Events in Manhattan Beach .  The setting was at the boutique Belamar Hotel in Manhattan Beach where the setting was in their beautiful stone courtyard.  Considerate Done Events set beautiful tables, and CW Photography captured the setting beautifully.
Fall brings a whole new season of gorgeous florals.  Our inspiration for this shoot was the beautiful linen color.  We covered the vases in burlap ribbon and are now so ready to jump into fall flowers!
